Faith – When you know that Jesus is Everything and Enough!

Clothed with Faith

Fourth in God’s Armor

Faith has one object – God.  It is an intimate and personal relationship with Jesus.  We don’t need to know what, where or how, we just need to know that Jesus IS.

Faith opens our heart to receive all of God’s gifts and resources.  It motives us to action and releases power in and through us.  Faith looks beyond today’s struggles and see’s God’s purpose.

Hebrews 11:1 and 3

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God,

so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

John 10:4

          And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them;

and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

Matthew 14:27-29

        27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I;

do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You,

command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.”

And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water

               to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid;

and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

2 Chronicles 16:7-9

7 And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him:

“Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on the Lord

your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hand.

8 Were the Ethiopians and the Lubim not a huge army with very many chariots

and horsemen? Yet, because you relied on the Lord, He delivered them into your

hand. 9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to

show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you

have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.”

1 John 5:4

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has

              overcome the world—our faith.

God says that believing is seeing. “You will see it when you believe it.”

John 20:29

Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are

those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Learn to listen to your thoughts.  You are not responsible for every thought that comes to your mind, but you are to deal with them according to truth.  Satan and the world may seed thoughts into your mind, but you can reject the ones that are not in line with God’s truths.  When you claim truth and act on it, you manifest faith.

Only you and God know the strength of your faith, and only God knows the power it can have!

Let’s encourage each other to seek, to choose

and to triumph over life by speaking words of faith

that glorify our God.

Challenging you to a life of Peace

09 Aug

This week we are in California.  OH NO Program Change!!

We were to attend Allen’s 50th Reunion, but it was not to be.  On Tuesday, Allen underwent an emergency appendectomy.  He will be in the hospital, it appears until at least Monday… Please keep him in your prayers as he fights to eliminate all the poison in his system.  It could have had very different results had we been in the airplane or in California.  We praise God for His constant nudging to “go to the Doctor”!  We were bound and determined to go…but finally quit trying to make all the decisions and followed the One who knows!  Thank you Lord!

In our blogs we have learned how to wear the Armor of God and how to use our new clothes to protect us from this earthly life.

It is through TRUTH spoken in love and spoken to us by Jesus…through RIGHTEOUSNESS where we choose to live a life based on that truth and follow the values and the road set before us by Jesus…then how to live in PEACE with others and to know and live a joyous and peaceful life by giving Christ all our troubles and conflict.    We need to trust Him to deal with everything on our behalf.

This week, I saw the result of trusting Christ to take our pain and give us peace!  It is not for us to know what He’s doing but to know who He is!

I would like to challenge you, this week,  to:

Encourage each other to seek, to choose,

to wear and to triumph over life by allowing Jesus

to bring His stillness to every storm.

See you next week, when we put on the cloak of FAITH.

Hugs  Thelma

Clothed in Peace

Clothed in Peace

Third in God’s Armor

When I put on peace through faith, Jesus takes my soul to His high place so I will see the world from His perspective and nothing can touch me there.

Spiritual warfare is a constant reality.  When I shift my focus from Him to my wants and circumstances (even my desire for peace) then anxiety, guilt, fear, resentment and confusion creep in.  It is then that I need to remember to get my eyes back on Him.  Be still and know that He is God.  My peace reigns when He fills His place in the center of my heart.

 Matthew 11:28

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

 John 10:4

            And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them;

and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

Isaiah 26:3

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You,

                      Because he trusts in You.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.

Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

 John 16:33

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.

In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer,

                I have overcome the world.”

Philippians 4:6-7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving,

let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses

all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

 Ephesians 2:14-16

14For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle

wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of

commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man

from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to

God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.

 John 5:19

Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do

nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does,

the Son also does in like manner.

Our desire must be to know, please and honor Him.

W.W.J.D.  Everything we do must bring glory to the Father.  Everything we do should be something that Jesus would do or would be glad that we did.

Can you say that about your actions, your thoughts and your life?  If not then peace is just beyond your reach.

To experience peace, we must change the focus of our heart from the people, pace and pressures around us to     the presence of our Father.
